Buying Your Home
A Personal Message
From Jim W Mills
When you are evaluating the
purchase of a new home for your
family, you have a lot of questions
to be answered prior to making a
wise and well informed
decision.
Determining the Fair Market
Value and the amount of equity
present in your current home is a
crucial part of this process.
Having sold homes in the
Charleston area for the last few
years, I am very knowledgeable
about marketing your home and
getting the top dollar with the
least amount of problems in the
quickest amount of time!

New Construction
What Our Clients Say About
Us
|
Shannon
and Andrew
Kavanaugh-
“We were first
time homebuyers
moving from
Maryland down
to South
Carolina. Our
agent (Debra
Heiney) and the
rest of the Jim
Mills Team made
the purchase of
our first home
an
unforgettable
experience.
Everyone we
worked with was
friendly,
knowledgeable,
and able to
work around our
scheduled
visits! We
couldn’t have
asked for
more!! Thank
you so much for
the pleasurable
experience and
we look forward
to working with
the Jim Mills
team again in
the future!! We
certainly would
recommend Debra
Heiney and the
Jim Mills team
to anyone
looking to buy
or sell a home
in the
tri-county
area!
Thank you
again for such
a great home
buying
experience.
We didn’t
really get to
work with you
but Debra is a
great asset to
your team!!
Thanks
again!"
Don
& Teresa
Dowless- "Jim
and his team
represented the
best experience
we ever had in
a real estate
transaction.
They were
competent and
caring and they
exhibited a
genuine desire
to focus on our
house - They
kept us updated
on every aspect
of the
sale.
Great
work. Jim
is an
exceptional
sales
professional.
Joe
& Aimee
Bruno- "We
could not ask
for a better
agent. We
look forward to
working with
her (Debra) and
the Jim Mills
Team in the
future and will
continue to
send referrals
to Debra
Heiney.
Terry
& Tammy
Feil- "Jim
has helped
us buy 2 homes
and sell
one. He
was tremendous
help in all 3
because serious
issues arose in
the course of
each. He
is humble
enough to admit
to continually
"learning" yet
savvy enough to
be aggresive
when
necessary.
I felt he gave
us sound, safe
advice and
was very
respectful of
our
situation.
He and his team
were friends to
us in this
process while
being
completely
professional.
We are so happy
to have worked
with
them.
Teresa
& Jimmy
Moore- "We
selected the
Jim Mills Team
because he was
recommended by
my sister. We
liked working
with the Team
because they
were very
informative,
dependable and
never high
pressure. We
feel they did a
terrific job
because we
truly felt like
they were very
interested in
"Our”
transaction. We
never felt that
after we listed
our property
that we were
just another
"Listing”. They
were always
prompt and kept
us informed. We
have had many
closings in the
past ten years
between rentals
and residential
purchases, the
Jim Mills Team
are the best
Realtors we
have ever
worked with,
keeping us
informed and
standing by
what they say.
They will be
our family’s
realtor."
Allen
and Shirley
Gold- "‘Complete
Honesty!’ was
what we liked
best about
working with
the Jim Mills
Team. We
received ‘Top
Dollar’ for our
home."
Marla
and Brian
Shipley- "The
'Professionalism'
of the staff
impressed me
the most!"
Kirby
and Donna
Johnson- "The
personal touch,
professionalism
and
friendliness
was what we
like the best
about working
with the Jim
Mills Team.
They kept us
updated with so
much
information,
emails and
returned phone
calls
immediately.
They were
always willing
to go the extra
mile, like
showing us over
12 homes in the
rain on a
Saturday."
Kim and
Greg
Cecil- "The
Jim Mills Team
was
professional,
knowledgeable
and accessible.
They made the
purchase of our
home extremely
easy. We think
of them more as
a friend than
an agent. We
will recommend
their services
to anyone.
Thanks for a
pleasant
experience."
Janet
and Lewis
Collins- "We
selected the
Jim Mills Team
because they
quickly
responded to my
request for
listings.
'Feeling
Confident' that
we would be
taken care of
and always
looking forward
to appointments
stood out the
most about the
Team. They are
always on top
of everything,
informative,
sincere and fun
to work with.
They have made
buying our home
a pleasant
experience."
Donna
and Steve
Kilgore- "We
really
appreciate all
the hours you
put in working
with us to find
our first home.
Any other
realtor may not
have hung in
there – but you
really are a
great realtor!
Quite the
bull-dog when
you need to be.
It was really a
great
experience.
Thank you so
much for
everything.
Your knowledge
of the entire
process made
things so much
smoother. We
can’t thank you
enough. We will
tell everyone
we know that
you’re the best
in town."
Tanisha
and Shedrick
Moorer- "The
Jim Mills Team
made us feel
comfortable,
very easy to
talk to and
express our
minds. Their
patience was
unrealistic…they
had hope for us
when we didn’t
have hope for
ourselves."
Robert
and Amanda
Ellison, Recent
Clients- "We
were very happy
with The Jim
Mills Team.
Everyone was
very
professional
and willing to
do whatever it
took to sell
our home. We
will only use
Jim and his
team for future
real estate
activities.”
Lloyd
Clayton, Recent
Client- "Jim
is very
professional
and always
seemed to have
my needs in
mind. Anytime I
had a question,
Jim’s team did
all they could
to get the
information for
me. If I ever
have need for
another real
estate
transaction,
Jim will be the
one I
call.”
Kayrie
Cargill, Recent
Client- "Everyone
on The Jim
Mills Team
(especially
Debra) was very
respectful,
hard-working
and patient
throughout the
process. All of
my questions
were answered
promptly.”
Elinor
E. McGarvey,
Recent
Client- "The
Jim Mills Team
kept me
informed as to
what was going
on with my
listing. They
were all very
nice. There is
nothing I can
think of to
help improve
there
services.”
Brian
and Jan
Pickens, Recent
Clients- "The
Jim Mills Team
is highly
motivated to
the most modern
tools needed to
achieve a top
market sale in
the shortest
time that we
have ever
experienced.
This highly
professional
team provided
us with
confidence,
convenience and
the utmost
satisfying
conclusion to
one of the
largest
investments
most people
make today. In
addition, the
salesmanship
techniques that
Jim uses never
created
question. Jim’s
expertise,
foresight and
personable
mannerism ranks
Jim, in our
minds, as top
of his
profession.”
Joe and
Claudia
Wernicke,
Recent
Clients- "If
I ever sell
another home, I
know exactly
who to call.
Jim truly does
care about his
clients and not
just about
getting a
commission.
There was
always constant
contact with
The Jim Mills
Team. Even if I
didn’t call,
Diane and/or
Jim would call
with updated
information and
concerns. Jim’s
refreshing
honesty was
more than
appreciated. He
is very
professional,
yet personable.
In my opinion,
there is
nothing The Jim
Mills Team can
do to improve
their services.
Their services
are beyond
excellent!”
Walter
and Carol
Koenig, Recent
Clients- "The
Jim Mills Team
is friendly and
cooperative. No
request is too
much.”
Ken and
Amy Lott,
Recent
Clients- "We
were thrilled
to work with
Jim, Debbie and
Diane. Jim was
honest and
helpful as we
bought our home
and sold
another. It was
easy to get
information
quickly and
accurately.
Diane did an
awesome job of
taking care of
little tasks,
going out of
her way to drop
by when I
couldn’t go to
her. We always
knew what was
going on. The
professionalism
of all the team
members was
evident start
to finish.”
Joe and
Diane Bruorton,
Recent
Clients- "The
Jim Mills
Team’s customer
service and
patience was
outstanding.
They were very
attentive and
worked
aggressively to
meet our needs.
Trying to find
the right home
in another
state is
difficult. The
Jim Mills Team
made it all
less stressful.
No improvements
needed.
Excellent
Service.”
Alan
Huff, Recent
Client- "Being
a first time
homebuyer,
Debra told me
what to expect
every step of
the way. There
were never any
surprises, and
I understood
everything that
was going on
from the
signing of the
contract to the
closing.”
Rob and
Theresa Grable,
Recent
Clients- "The
Jim Mills Team
is a great
team. If one
can’t show up,
the other team
member will
fill in. They
are at your
call until you
are
satisfied.”
Shedrick
and Tanisha
Moorer, Recent
Clients- "Debra
is really on
top of her
game. Her
patience is
unrealistic.
She had hope
for us, when we
didn’t have
hope for
ourselves.
Everyone on The
Jim Mills Team
made us feel
comfortable.
They are very
easy to talk.
We can’t think
of any ways for
them to
improve. The
Jim Mills Team
is a great
team!”
Barbara
Lang, Recent
Client- "From
the minute I
met Mr. Mills
to the closing
of my new home,
I was
never
disappointed.
Jim, or one of
his team
members, would
always return
our calls in a
timely manner.
I never once
felt
frustrated,
rushed or
second on Jim’s
"to-do-list.”
The Jim Mills
Team did a
first-class,
professional
job and made
our home buying
process a
breeze!”
Teresa
Moore, Recent
Client- "I
think The Jim
Mills Team did
a terrific job.
I always felt
like they were
truly
interested in
our
transaction,
and we weren’t
just another
listing to
them. They were
prompt,
informative and
dependable. The
Jim Mills Team
will be our
family’s real
estate agent
from now
on.”
Larry
N. Connor,
Recent
Client- "Jim
is very
professional
and
knowledgeable
about the
market in the
area. He has a
second sense
about taking
care of the
small issues
before they
become large
ones. Jim
constantly
communicated
with me,
keeping me
up-to-date on
everything. I
never had the
slightest
doubts about my
transaction and
was always
confident I was
in good hands.
I can assure
you that Jim
will always
have my real
estate
business.”
Dave
and Jadie
Andrus, Recent
Client- "We
selected Jim to
sell our home
for his
positive
attitude,
enthusiasm and
aggressive
pricing stance.
Following our
signing with
Jim, he put
into motion a
very
comprehensive
marketing plan.
We were very
impressed with
the
thoroughness of
it and his
efforts to keep
us apprised of
developments.
Should my
family and I
find ourselves
back in the
Charleston
area, we would
happily ask Jim
to represent us
again. He has
earned our
trust, respect
and
gratitude.”
Thomas
LaRue, Recent
Client- "There
is no pressure
from The Jim
Mills Team.
They handle any
and all
problems before
the problems
even have a
chance to flare
up.”

Life In Charleston
|
The
Market
Place
Known to most
as the hub of
the city, the
Market Place is
situated
downtown and
marked by brick
streets. With
its low brick
buildings
filled with
stalls it is
perfect for
selling
everything from
southern crafts
to food items.
It was given to
the city of
Charleston by a
prominent
southern
family, the
Pinckney’s, to
serve as a
community
market area.
Sure to please
everyone it is
an eclectic mix
of old and
contemporary.
Surrounding the
Market Place
are many of the
great
restaurants for
which
Charleston is
famous. Here
you will find
everything from
the informal
tourist stops
such as Bubba
Gump Shrimp,
Co. to the
savory
experience of
Charleston
Place Grill.
Whatever you
want you will
surely find it
at the Market
Place.
Fort
Sumter
Approaching
Charleston from
the sea or
Intracoastal
Waterway you’ll
see Fort
Sumter.
Construction of
the fort on
this man made
island began in
1829 and was
not yet
completed by
December, 1860
when troops
were moved
there from Fort
Moultrie. On
April 12, 1861
the first shots
of the Civil
War were fired
at Union troops
in the fort.
Upon Rebel
occupation,
Fort Sumter
became a symbol
of Southern
resistance.
However, after
Union forces
reclaimed the
fort it became
a powerful
symbol for both
the North and
South in the
issue of states
rights over
federal
authority.
Open
Daily
(except
New
Year's
Day,
Thanksgiving
Day and
Christmas
Day) You
may
access
the Fort
Sumter
dock with
your
private
boat or
ride the
park
concession
operated
ferry
system.
The
Battery
The Battery -
also known as
White Point
Gardens is the
site of the
earliest
settlement of
Charleston. It
is built on a
shell bank on
the southern
tip of the
peninsula
overlooking the
waterfront.
Named for the
cannons built
by the original
settlers to
defend against
sea attack,
today it is the
site of many of
the most
beautiful homes
and parks in
Charleston. Now
protected by a
sea wall it is
home of
palmettos and
live oaks
overlooking
relics of ages
past. Travel
